Position Summary: Responsible for the coordination of patient care and access to services, provides materials and serves as a liaison with members of the patient's health care team as well as provides administrative support to the department physicians.  Functions as a patient advocate, guides patients and families throughout the process.  These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's (GUH) philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

Required Education and Training: Associate's degree required, BA/BS preferred.

Required Experience: Two to three years of experience in a medical/clinical office is preferred.  Previous experience as a patient registration associate or administrative assistant preferred.  Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills, and good telephone etiquette. Knowledge of medical terminology.  Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to perform in a high pressure environment.  Ability to organize and prioritize work Ability to deal effectively and professionally with a variety of different individuals.
